To breathe new life into the first of the UK’s post-war new towns, Agency Mars looked back even further to the first settler of Stevenage, the Saxons.
Not much is known, however, they were highly skilled craftspeople, with ironwork being a particularly important trade.
Marks, typography and materials inspired by this craft create a tactile, bold brand identity that is used across print, digital and wayfinding. Particular attention was given to ensuring the signage for the development had the appearance of forged iron.
